Along with being one of the hardest working architects in the profession, Chad is a founding Principal of Vernacular Studio. With the focused determination and energy he brings to every project, our clients unanimously agree that his design capabilities and attention to detail are second to none. With extensive corporate, higher education, athletics/aquatics facilities, restaurant and multifamily expertise, Chad’s well rounded portfolio of experience and design insight is an asset to every project. Years after graduating top of his class and receiving several design awards from the North Carolina State University’s College of Design, Chad continues to refine the design process which serves as the foundation for many of the firm’s award winning projects. Chad serves as a board member for several charities and organizations throughout North Carolina; he was recently named to the AIA Triangle Board of Directors.

In his free time, Chad enjoys balancing all the hard work by traveling the world with his wife Ashley; petting wild animals as he goes. Though the rumor he once performed life saving CPR to a newborn giraffe in the Bush of South Africa cannot be confirmed, the equally impressive lore that he once saved a newborn calf from a pack wild coyotes is in fact true.
