COPMLETED 2000

This project was a 30,000 sq.
ft. office upfit for Raleigh
based Rockett Burkhead and
Winslow advertising agency, on
the sixth and seventh floors of
the Forum I. The program
included a new lobby, monumental
stair, war rooms, getaway room,
private and open offices, and
other support spaces. The space
was previously a labrynth of
maze-like corridors, and limited
sight lines. The goal of the
project was to create a more
active, open, and bright space,
which fostered the kind of
collaborative work ethic the
firm lives by. The project
proved extremely challenging, as
the requirements and budget
changed regularly throughout the
course of the project. The
budget was $30 sq. ft. + a
$150,000 furniture allowance.
Brett Hautop worked as project
designer and manager on the
project.

Freelon was the architect of
record. Photography by James
West productions.
