The North Carolina School of
the Arts School of Music Complex
acts as both a performance and
teaching venue for the school.
At the heart of the complex is a
300 seat chamber music
performance hall. The building’s
geometry reflects the natural
topography of the site and the
north facing lobby is all glass
to create a public stage for
patrons and to maintain a visual
relation to the Performance
Place building across the plaza.
The main entrance and vestibule
are glass and lit to act as a
way-finding lantern on
performance nights.

Chad Parker, AIA was a design
team member for the exterior
architecture for the project
