COMPLETED 2002

Sited on a rural 168 acres, The
Lowe’s Companies new corporate
headquarters included 400,000 sf
of office space, two parking
decks and construction of a new
man-made seven acre lake with
waterfall features. The building
also includes a multistory
atrium, executive offices,
multipurpose training rooms,
meeting/ conference nodes,
dining rooms and kitchen to
serve 2500 meals a day.

Additionally the project
includes a 5 story, 1512 space
parking structure with two-way,
double threaded helix traffic
flow. The deck is a steel framed
structure with precast and metal
panel cladding with three
enclosed stairways. The central
stair tower includes glass
facades at both the stairs and
elevators for an uninterrupted
view of the lake and
countryside. Designed originally
as a structural precast parking
structure, the deck was
redesigned as a steel frame deck
as a cost consideration.

The project was completed in
2004. Chad Parker AIA, of
Vernacular Studio worked as a
design team member for the
project while employed at CJMW.
