passed his LEED exam and is now LEED AP Certified, bringing the office
total to 4 LEED Accredited Professionals. Give him a nice pat on the back the next
time you see him.

Award of Merit  for the 101 Lounge + Cafe project. The Inform Awards
recognize design excellence in the mid-Atlantic region and Vernacular
Studio is joined by other national design firms including Gensler and

Facility Services selects Vernacular Studio to design new Davis
Landscaping southern region headquarters building in Garner, NC. The
project is expected to seek LEED certification.



February 2009

Scientific Properties selects Vernacular Studio to complete a 6000+ sq ft upfit for Mindworks, a multimedia production company in the historic Golden Belt
development in Durham, NC. Design for this fast track project will
begin in April and construction is set to conclude on July 1.

Vernacular
Studio’s Ashley Morris, AIA completes a significant renovation of their
home in Raleigh’s Historic Oakwood. Friends and family are always
welcome, provided they bring a paintbrush.

Vernacular Studio’s Megan Sullivan is selected to be the Regional Emerging Artist in Residence for the first half of 2009 at Artspace, located in downtown Raleigh. Megan’s sewing artistry is a close second to her Beagle taming skills.

Studio hosted their annual Holiday Open House at 530 Hillsborough
Street. For those who did not make it…you missed a great time. Whoever
left the sushi on the couch…please confess.

a few red wine stains on the carpet, the office survived relatively
unscathed.
