This prototypical residential design was inspired by the contextual forms found throughout North Carolina residential structures. The design seeks to create a relaxed, “livable” home with an open plan and multiple outdoor living areas that act as extensions of the interior space. The programmatic forms of the house respond to this need by creating a private courtyard and covered terrace surrounded by a site wall and could be potentially completed with a plunge pool. Throughout the house, natural light and materials are abundant, further blurring the distinction between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
