Farmer Residence
Raleigh, NC
2100 SF
Challenged by an extremely small lot in an established neighborhood, this residence sought to create a home that was both contextual to the neighborhood fabric, while maintaining its own identity and character. The owner’s primary goal was to create relaxed “livable” home with an open plan and multiple private outdoor living areas that act as extensions of the living areas. The programmatic forms of the house respond to this need by creating a private courtyard and covered terrace that is completed by a site wall and plunge pool. Natural light and materials are abundant throughout the plan further blurring the distinction between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
